Form one students can wear their primary school uniforms for a period of time until the parent is able to purchase the required uniform. CS Ezekiel Machogu has said.
While supervising the Form One admission exercise at St. George Secondary School in Nairobi , the CS asked teachers to be tolerant with students who do not report to school in the right uniform.
“We made it clear that the parents are informed on the uniform and where a parent is able to buy the uniform immediately, they are given time, such that a student can come with the uniform they used to put on in primary and wear it for the time being while parents are making arrangements of acquiring the same,” he said

The CS also addressed concerns about the excessive fees that schools have asked parents to pay
Machogu said that the secondary school fee remains as recommended by the Kilemi Mwiria education taskforce, and even a shilling should be added to it.
“the government has not increased school fees , the fees is as it was set seven years ago by Kilemi Mwiria task force. Which set the amount for national schools and extra-county schools at Ksh.53,455. the amount for County boarding secondary school is Ksh.45,000,” the CS said.
He also added that school feel should not be paid all at once but on a termly basis.
The CS has also said needy children will benefit from scholarships and bursaries from CDF funds.
