Five people are receiving care at the Nakuru Referral Hospital in Nakuru county after they were injured during the protests.
The Hospital’s Medical Superintended Dr. James Waweru confirmed among the five, four sustained gun shot wounds,2-were in the abdomen, 1-in the chest and another the leg. The fifth person suffered from cut wounds.
In Migori, two people have been shot , one was shot in the thigh while the other was shot in the leg.
Cat and mouse games have been witnessed between police and protestors , with police lobbying teargas canisters to disperse protestors.
Businesses and schools have been closed , with transport services also been paralyzed as the ongoing protests continue.
