The presidential debate set for July 26 will be held at The Catholic University of Eastern Africa and will begin at 5pm. This is the same venue the deputy and gubernatorial debates were held.
‘’The presidential debate will take place Tuesday, July 26th 2022, at the catholic university of eastern Africa main campus situated in Karen , Nairobi from 5:00 Pm to 10:00 pm,’’ Presidential debates secretariat ,Clifford Machoka had stated .
The first-tier debate featuring candidates who have polled less than 5% in the three recent polls, which will include George Wajackoya and David Mwaure will be moderated by Ms Vidyarthi and Mr Mijungu
The second tier will be tier debate involving candidates who have polled more than 5% in three recent opinion polls who are Raila Odinga and William Ruto will be moderated by Yvonne Okwara and Eric Latiff.
‘’The moderators have been selected based on a righteous criteria that abides to among other things the principles of impartiality, fairness and objectivity, a strong understanding of the Kenyan political landscape and the major issues of elections. ’The presidential secretary of the debate said.
Wajackoyah Sets conditions on attending Presidential Debate
The debate will be televisionised in a joint broad cast and Joe Ageyo will moderate for both debates.
