Police in Rangwe , have launched a manhunt for a teacher at Nyajanja Mixed Secondary School who went into hiding after he defiled six students, impregnating one in the process.

The 38-year old teacher , was employed by the school’s Board Of Management , is alleged to have been defiling the six students in the latrines.

Deputy commissioner, Alfet Jillo said the medical report  after laboratory examination indicated that one of the six girls has been confirmed pregnant.

Ms. Jillo, who was accompanied by area MP Lilian Gogo, sub county Police Commander Magdaline Chebet and education officials to a fact-finding mission in the school, said the security team is now out to apprehend the suspect who disappeared after his wrongdoings became public.

The commissioner said the matter has been booked at the Rangwe Police Station where a manhunt has been launched for the suspect.

“The incident was reported on February 13, and the culprit is now at large but will be apprehended very soon,” she noted.

The doctor, termed the incident as an annihilation of the girls rights while pursuing their education, saying that the suspect will not be spared at any cost.
