World record breaker, faith Kipyegon Wednesday was honored by the Sports Journalists Association for her achievements in June.

Kipyegon broke two world records the 1500m, and the 5000m records during the third Diamond League in Florence.

SJAK in collaboration with LG, awarded her an LG Wi-Fi enabled dish washer after she was voted the winner ahead of Carl Tundo, McRae Kimathi and three other nominees.

The champion expressed her joy , saying the awards strength her spirit to keep excelling.

“I was not expecting this ward after winning a washing machine from LG the other time. More is still in store as I’m travelling tomorrow to Nairobi ahead of Friday’ World Championships trials,”Kipyegon said.

She said she is focusing in her events, saying she targets to defend her title in Budapest.
