Repackaged Sugar Nabbed In Kisii

DCI officers accompanied by Kisii county officers have nabbed  illegally repackaged sugar in a storey building in Magena, Kisii county.

In the raid, as result of a tip-off from members of the public, area OCPD Charles Opondo issued the arrest of woman, who allegedly engages with corrupt business individuals in the area. The organization repackages sugar from Tanzania and Uganda into sacks labelled Mara, Sony and other local sugar mills.

During the raid, the suspects were found to be operating in a filthy environment without any weighing machines.

The Kenya Bureau of Standards and National Environment Management Authority officials have called upon, to investigate before subjecting the sugar to a lab test.

The owner of the building , Dorcas Kemunto said that she rented the house to an individual by the nae Sam Ouko who is on the run.

DCI detective have launched a search for the individuals who are believed to be behind the illegal sugar business in Moganga, Ogembo and in Kisii.
