Police based in Homa Bay county are holding an alleged “prophet” who claims God has instructed him to meet with the President within 21 days.

The prophet, Joseph Otieno Chenge of Jerusalem Mowar Church was arrested alongside his 11 followers at his church in Ruri East Sub-location.

The 12 suspects, include six pastors of his church and five patients who are allegedly been detained at the clergy’s church for a period ranging from two weeks to four months.

According to Homabay, DCI’s head, the preacher was arrested allegedly practicing what he terms as questionable religious practices.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Chenge has been holding patients with different diseases at his home for healing prayers.

“The patients have being detained in his church but some of them are in a very disastrous state. We suspect they were being offered prayers which changed their normal thinking.” Kavoo said.

The pastor has also been accused for operating a church without a registration license.
