President William Ruto has put forward a new team to lead the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC), pending approval by the National Assembly.
In a statement issued Friday, the Head of State said the nominations were based on recommendations from a selection panel mandated to identify qualified candidates for the commission.

If approved by Parliament, Kepha Nyamweya Omae from Kisii County will take over as Chairperson. The proposed commissioners are Josephine Kirion Eragae (Isiolo), Joseph K. Nguyo (Nyeri), Jackson Swadi Kedogo (Vihiga), Samuel Mwachiro Mwawasi (Taita Taveta), Irene Chepoisho Tulel (West Pokot), Hassan Billow Ahmed (Wajir), and Jerusah Mwaathime Michael (Kitui).
President Ruto has called on the National Assembly to expedite the vetting process, emphasizing the importance of the commission’s mandate in strengthening national unity.
He noted that the NCIC plays a crucial role in addressing ethnic divisions, tackling hate speech, and fostering peaceful coexistence among Kenyans.
The nominees will undergo parliamentary vetting before a final decision is made on their appointment.
