Kenyan comedian and content creator Oga Obinna has claimed that several politicians attempted to damage his reputation because of his close association with fellow content creator Naomi Kuria. Obinna made the allegations during an interview with club host Ciggie Johnson, where he reflected on the period when he and Naomi frequently appeared together in social media videos.

According to the comedian, the attention surrounding their collaborations allegedly attracted the interest of several politicians who wanted to pursue Naomi romantically. Obinna claimed that some of the politicians, whom he did not identify by name, allegedly resorted to speaking negatively about him in an effort to distance him from Naomi. He said the individuals included Members of Parliament, senators, governors and at least one Cabinet Secretary. Obinna further claimed that he eventually became aware of some of the alleged conversations through messages and information shared with him.

He said he was particularly disappointed that some of those allegedly involved were people he had previously regarded as friends and had interacted with professionally. The comedian recalled hosting some of the politicians on his platforms, making their alleged conduct particularly surprising to him. Obinna also used the interview to address persistent speculation surrounding his relationship with Naomi.

The two have appeared together in numerous videos, with their interactions and apparent chemistry prompting sections of their online audience to believe they were romantically involved. However, Obinna maintained that the relationship was never a romantic one. He described Naomi as a friend and collaborator, explaining that their appearances together were part of their content and social media work. Obinna said men interested in Naomi should approach her directly rather than treating him as an obstacle. His comments effectively sought to put to rest speculation that he and Naomi were secretly dating.
