Nairobi County Chief Officer for Citizen Engagement and Customer Service Geoffrey Mosiria has pledged to assist former The Real Househelps of Kawangware actor William Okore, known as Onyi, by facilitating access to medical, psychosocial or rehabilitation services.
In a press release issued on Monday, October 19, 2026, Mosiria mentioned that he had become concerned after viewing social media content where Onyi had asked musician and former Starehe MP Charles Njagua Kanyi, also called Jaguar, for employment or support in venturing into a petty business. He also said that he wanted to establish the actor’s immediate needs before pursuing plans to help him rebuild his livelihood.
“I think before Jaguar can help him with the business he has asked for, let us first establish if he needs psychosocial support, medical attention, or rehabilitation services,” the county chief said.
Mosiria assured that he would arrange for any required form of assistance and asked people who knew Onyi to assist in restoring contact with the troubled actor.
In the video, which spurred the current developments, Onyi mentioned that he had been unemployed since 2022 and that the financial difficulties were unbearable as he struggled to feed his family. He further stated that he had turned to Jaguar for help in finding a job or petty business to help him support his family.
The actor’s plight garnered public sympathy after being shared online, sparking a conversation about celebrities’ financial lives and how quickly their fortunes can change in Kenya. Mosiria reacted to the video by stating that it was important to identify Onyi’s needs before restoring his livelihood. However, the county chief did not explicitly say that Onyi needed any specific type of medical intervention.

The current developments are part of a series of events that began when Onyi asked for help.
According to reports, Onyi was admitted to the National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA) Rehabilitation Centre in Miritini, Mombasa, for a three-month inpatient recovery program.
Jaguar facilitated the admission after learning of it from NACADA chief executive Anthony Omerikwa.
“We applaud Onyi for having the courage to seek help and treatment for his addiction. His bravery is a clarion call that substance use and abuse is a preventable and treatable disease, and that one should never be embarrassed or afraid to seek treatment. We at NACADA will continue to fight for substance abuse awareness, treatment, and control in Kenya,” stated Omerikwa.
Onyi expressed his gratitude to NACADA and Jaguar for their roles in helping him enroll at the facility. He further stated that he had enough commitment to continue with the program and emerge triumphant and return to showbiz.
The news of Onyi’s admission to the rehabilitation center came after Mosiria’s offer to help. From the reports, it appears that Jaguar and NACADA facilitated Onyi’s admission to the center, but there is no explicit information showing that Mosiria played a role in admitting him.
Whether Onyi intends to return to acting or pursue another career remains unclear.
