Naivasha “No Partying ,Hawking Along Safari Rally Routes”

Naivasha rally attendees will have to hold back their partying and hawking along safari rally routes as they have been prohibited .

The prohibition was issued by Nakuru county and world rally championship to ensure safety during the event. hey cautioned that violators of the ban would face arrest and prosecution.

Naivasha county hotel owners have announced full bookings for the event that starts in two days.

In the last two rallies, traffic was heavy due to visitors pitching camp on both Moi south lake road and Naivasha -Mai-Mahiu road.

Head of WRC  hospitality, Faith Wathome said no parties will be allowed along the road to reduce traffic problems . She also said that WRC was working closely with the county government to mange hawking and traffic on the rally routes.

“All our visitors have ben accommodated in Naivasha, and we expect the number to increase compared to last year,” said Ms. Wahome.

She also said that hawkers will be accommodated in hustlers bazaars near spectator zones and away from the main roads.

Nakuru county tourism association chairman David Mwangi said that business was better this year compared to last year , with the growing numbers of international and local visitors.

Mr. David challenged the rally organizers to address the recurrent traffic problems along major roads in Naivasha..

The country expects over 800,000 visitors for the WRC event.
