In Kiambu county, kikuyu area, a mother is in distress after finding her child strangled with a rope.

Police are investigating the case in which a minor has been defiled before been strangled to death.

The mother of the child told the police the incident happened on December 1st, while she was attending to house chores.

The minor a 10-year-old girl was outside playing with a rope.

When the mother went to check on her, she found her strangled with the same rope the child was playing with behind the house.

She tried to call her but it was futile. She raised distress calls which were responded to by the locals. the minor was rushed to the hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

The mother wanted to bury the deceased and later went to seek for a burial permit at the local chief’s camp, where she was told to first report them matter to the police.

Days later after the postmortem was done, it was revealed that the minor was defiled before been strangled.

The exercise was conducted on Wednesday at a hospital in kikuyu which prompted the new probe of murder and defilement.

The reason of the incident and its motive is yet to be known but a team of detectives are on the case.
