Kisumu Traders Count Losses After Fire Destroys Juakali Property

Traders based in Kisumu Juakali area are counting losses after a fire broke out during the anti-government protesters , were protestors engaged in cat and mouse game with the police.

According to reports, the cause of the fire is still unknown, with both police and protestors to blame.

The fire left behind destroyed properties as multiple shops were burnt down.

Several traders managed to save their wares by accessing their shops before the fire spread.

Kisumu firefighters rushed to the scene and tried to put out the fire and also prevent it from spreading further.

A water cannon belonging to the GSU later joined in to put out the fire.

During Wednesday protests, businesses were shut down, other properties destroyed across the nation, as the Azimio La Umoja protestors engaged with the anti-riot police officers.

Police were forced to lob teargas at protestors to disperse the crowds.
