The president elect Dr William Samoei Ruto has urged Civil servants to go back to work. This comes after a highly contested General elections that was just concluded. Kenya has been in a campaign mode for the last two years.
During the prolonged campaign period, the civil servants in the country were pooled into the campaigns. The different factions in our politics made use of various public officials in their campaigns.
The Kenya Kwanza faction is on record condemning the use of provincial administrators as campaigners. The Azimio faction used the administrators exclusively as their campaigners in different regions.
According to the president elect, all public officials are expected to go back to work and serve all Kenyans equally and not based on Tribe, gender, religion or even political linings.
The president elect seems to be taking things seriously after promising to perform well and improve the livelihoods of Kenyans. He went on further to indicate that all jobs were safe as long as the people in public service perform their duties.
Both the president and deputy president elect were gazetted on 16th August 2022 by the chairman of IEBC Wafula Chebukati.
