Ex-Mungiki Leader Maina Njenga Declared A Wanted Man

DCI detectives have launched a search for former Mungiki leader Maina Njenga, after two guns and over 90 rolls of bhang were allegedly found at a Nakuru home.

In a statement, DCI said the items were discovered during a raid done at Ngomongo village in Dundori ward, were also eight suspects were arrested.

The detectives said they also recovered three rounds of ammunition hidden in one of rooms in the house.

“One of the firearms recovered was a homemade pistol capable of firing while the other one was a Tokarev whose serial number has been ruined,” DCI stated.

Mr. Njenga escaped the police during the raid.

DCI have urged members of the public to volunteer any information that may lead to the arrest of the suspect.

A unit of police officers is said to have raided Mr. Maina three homes in Nakuru, Nairobi and Laikipia on May 12 for unknown reasons.

Hours before the raid, Maina Njenga had visisted the home of the late Marshal Mukami Kimathi in Njabini, for burial preparations.
