Nakuru: Police Recover Illegal Alcohol Worth Ksh.730K

Police based in Nakuru have launched a manhunt on a whiskey peddler who evaded arrest from detectives who discovered fake alcohol he was trading in Nakuru’s area.

In a statement. DCI say they discovered at least 120 cartons of assorted alcoholic drinks with counterfeit KRA stamps.

The consignment’s value of Ksh730,000 included 79 cartons of Spark Vodka, 26Bob Vodka, 17 Best vodka, 1 carton of Boss Vodka and 2 cartons full of assorted bottle caps were discovered.

“The value of the goods seized was estimated at sh730,000 and the total tax lost Sh.342,482” the statement read.

The goods have been seized following a notice.

“Efforts to arrest the owner of the unlicensed business are currently ongoing,” DCI noted.

A consignment of alcoholic drinks bearing fake KRA stamps has been recovered at a premise in Pipeline, Nakuru County.
