It is the end of the road for Meru governor Kawira Mwangaza after a long month of battling MCA’s. The outspoken Governor has been on the receiving end of grievances and accusations from both members of the public and the county assembly. Before the month of October winded up a petition had been submitted to the County Assembly calling for impeachment. Kawira is now looking to save herself from the disgrace of an impeachment through dialogue.
In a letter addressed to the political leaders in Meru county. The governor is inviting all political leaders in Meru for a high-level dialogue meeting on the 3rd of November. The meeting is expected to address the recent public spectacle that had riddled Meru county. According to the first time governor the meeting has been made possible through coordinated efforts. She notes in her letter that the current COG chair has played a very important role in bring together all parties.
Mwangaza is considered on of the most influential politicians who was elected on an idea based platform. The fierce politician is said to have used minimum campaign resources to clinch the top seat in the county. During the second devolution term, a number of governors faced the wrath of MCA’s. They were impeached although a good number of the same were saved by the senate.

One of the main issues that was under a lot of contention between the two arms of government was the Ward fund. The governor had written to the Controller of budget and the Auditor general seeking clarification on the same. The MCA’s also accused her of being unavailable and very dismissive. They claimed that the governor has been demeaning them and appointing their replacement.
