Ugandan police officer was shot dead pursuing three robbers said to have attacked a soda depot that also housed a mobile money agent shop in central Mubende district.

Police revealed that the robbers made their way into the shop, and stole various items of unknown value before fleeing the scene.

Receiving the information officers began pursuing the robbers, during which the police officer was shot dead.

“He unfortunately succumbed to his injuries while been transported to Mubende Reginal Referral Hospital,” read the police statement.

The robbers did not flee with the officers firearm. Police recovered the getaway vehicle belonging to the suspects.
