No more pornographic content for Ugandan’s as Uganda’s internet service providers have been given the task of blocking  all pornographic websites.

On Wednesday, the government vowed to give a directive demanding the blocking of adult content to protects the nation’s youth from the vices of online pornography.

The governments move is to shield young people from explicit content, predators and offensive social media posts.

The move comes after Uganda Deputy speaker of Parliament, Thomas Tayebwa tasked the government to block all pornographic content.

“Our children are exposed to cartoons of violence, our teens are exposed to pornography. In Muslim countries ,pornography is blocked. Tell me how much we can lose as an economy if we blocked pornography sites in the country. Pornography is killing us,” said Tayebwa.

In 2017, the Ugandan government formed a “pornographic control committee” charged with the responsibility of detecting and prohibiting material within the country’s boarders.

The committee even spend Ksh.12M to acquire a “special machine” that could supposedly detect all pornographic content in Uganda.
