United States, a country where gun violence is high as cases of shooting hit the news every now and then.
A woman based in the US, faces criminal charges after shooting an Uber driver whom she believed was kidnaping her.
According to police in the border of El Paso, Texas, Phoebe Copas believed that she was being taken into Mexico.
Leading her to shoot the driver, Daniel Piedra Garcia, Police said in a statement.
The driver died in hospital after several days on a life support machine.
Phoebe Copas was in a car, she saw traffic signs that read Juarez, Mexico, according to police documents.
Police documents further report that after thinking she was being kidnapped, Copas pulled a gun from her handbag and shot the driver in the head. The can then hit barriers before coming to a stop.
Copas, who is from Kentucky but was visiting her boyfriend, is alleged to have then called the emergency number , took a photo of the driver and sent it to her boyfriend.
