Trouble as Kiambu Leaders skip Azimio rally in Thika Town.

Over the past four years the country has been divided majorly between Kieleweke and Tanga Tanga groups. This later accumulated to The Building Bridges initiative and then to Azimio la Umoja.

Azimio la umoja  is a rallying call that is being used by mostly members of the ODM and jubilee party. They propose to unite the country in a call for peace and unity and in an effort to neutralise the growing popularity of the hustler nation slogan of Bottom up.

The main purpose of the Azimio la umoja brigade is to make Raila Odinga the preferred presidential Candidate. This purpose has however had a major blow as the brigade eyes the vote rich region of Mount Kenya. In a bid to popularise their candidate the coalition planners have had to organise different rallies in the region. Such rallies include the Thika Town rally.

The rally was supposed to mark the official opening of the coalition’s campaign in the region, but this seems to have hit a snag. The much publicised rally was supposed to show support of the azimio la umoja call among the people. however the rally didn’t achieve their agenda as most leaders from the county were absent during the function.

Missed Event

The people of Thika also gave the rally a wide berth as they went on with their daily hustles. According to sources close to a Famous Mp in the region https://www.iconnews.co.ke team learnt that the member of Parliament ditched to attend the event because it would undermine his support base.

Raila is not our Candidate Kabogo Declares.

Another source close to a popular MCA  speaking anomalously and exclusively to https://www.iconnews.co.ke indicated that the MCA didn’t show up because he wasn’t invited formally.

The event was only attended by a few members of parliament from the region and only 5 MCA’s out of the 92 present in the whole county.
