Shakahola massacre, as the search of the victims continues, twelve more bodies have been exhumed at the forest in Kilifi County.

The death toll has now hit 372 after phase four of the exhumation exercise resumed on Monday this week.

Coast Regional Commander Rhoda Onyancha said that no new arrests have been made in connection with the deaths hence the number of arrests remains 37.

She also reported that the number of rescued people so far remains 95 while the DNA samples collected are at 253.

The exhumation process is set to continue on Thursday after Interior CS. Kithure Kindiki on Monday said they expect more bodies from the 40 new graves which were discovered.

Pastor Paul Mackenzie, the main suspect of the Shakahola massacre, is accused of brainwashing his followers to starve himself to death in order to “meet Jesus.”
