Safaricom Awards Faith Kipyegon Ksh.2M

World record breaker Faith Kipyegon has received another award as Safaricom awards her Ksh.2M for her amazing performance.

Kipyegon, the lady who has broken two world records in 1500m and 5000m races in the Diamond League, was awarded by the telecommunication company on Monday.

Kipyegon’s image was also put on display at the 29-floor skyscraper I the Central business district.

Kipyegon’s award ceremony was hosted by Safaricom’s CEO Peter Ndegwa, who praised the athlete for putting Kenya on the spotlight.

“As Safaricom , we are committed to supporting talents in the country. We appreciate and feel proud of what Faith has achieved and for her stellar performance, breaking two world records I one week. I believe this will help motivate many more talents in the country, said the CEO.

He praised Kipyegon as a role model to young women, “We will continue to be involved in sports because we know sports is a source of inspiration and a passion for many Kenyans.”

The world record breaker, thanked Safaricom and urged young athletes and young mothers to follow their hearts, do what inspires them and focus and believe.

Kipyegon now shifts her focus to Monaco, for the IAAF Diamond League set for July, followed by the World Athletics Championship in Budapest, Hungary, scheduled for 19th-27th August.
