Real work or Fake Promises as DP Rigathi asks Kenyans for 2 more years

The Deputy President of Kenya DP Rigathi Gachagua is on record asking Kenyans to bear with them 2 more years. This comes against a backdrop of the same government promising to turn around everything. The country has seen a change in leadership from Uhuru Kenyatta to William Ruto. According to the DP, the Kenya Kwanza administration inherited a dilapidated economy. The vocal politician now says that all they need are two more years for them to turn the economy around.

During their campaign period, The Ruto led team promised the voters a mired of reforms. among the reforms promised was the lowering in prices of basic commodities. The team also promised to set the hustlers Fund that would be used by micro businesses to access cheap credit. Turning around the economy was their main agenda in an election that pitied the hustlers against the dynasties.

The Working Party

The Deputy President was addressing the recently appointed working party on CBC. the President had earlier on in his term appointed a 49-member committee working party to review the education in the country. One of their main agenda was the review of the competency Based Curriculum. The curriculum has been facing a lot of criticism especially from parents and a section of other stakeholders.

According to Rigathi, The amount of taxes collected by the KRA are used to pay salaries and nothing is left to serve the developmental budget. This is one of the main reasons that the Government needs two years to turn the economy around.

The president had promised to bring down the cost of living within his first 100 days. It is over a month now and the cost of living is still skyrocketing with no sigh of relief for Kenyans. This crisis has made Kenyans question themselves on the choices they made on the ballot on August 9 2022.
