Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna is set to fly to the United States to spend two weeks in the diaspora as part of the Linda Mwananchi campaign.
The tour, announced on Sunday, November 1, will take place between November 20 and December 4, with Senator Sifuna visiting Allentown, Pennsylvania, Washington DC area, Dallas and Houston, Texas, plus Seattle and California.
The engagements will allow him and his campaign to interact with Kenyan expatriates whilst discussing leadership, economic change and Kenya’s future.
Whilst the campaign will be going to the United States to expand its reach, details of the meetings, who is organising them and what exactly will be happening at each location have not been outlined.
First, Senator Sifuna will travel to Allentown, Pennsylvania (November 20-22). He will then travel to the Washington DC area (commonly known as DMV as it covers the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia) (November 23-26).
Sifuna will then fly to Dallas (November 27-28) before travelling to Houston (November 29-30). Finally, the senator will visit Seattle and California (December 1-4). This means that the campaign will be visiting communities across the north east of the United States, Washington and Texas.
However, details of exactly where in California the senator will be visiting have not been clearly outlined. Also, details of where exactly the meetings will be taking place have not been revealed.

The tour to the United States follows Sifuna and his allies working hard to establish Linda Mwananchi’s organisational structures across Kenya. On October 30, Sifuna announced the opening of the Nairobi headquarters for the movement and said that he would open offices in all 47 counties by the end of November. The initiative has also been working across the counties to mobilise.
On October 31, Sifuna was active in Kwale County as the movement engaged with potential local leaders and supporters. In a statement posted on X, he said: “Meeting Linda Mwananchi aspirant from Kwale, as we kick off our engagements in the county. Leo ni Linda Kwale.”
This is part of the movement’s efforts to build local networks.
The tour to the United States could be a great way for the initiative to tell the diaspora about their political agenda. However, details of any policy discussions have not been outlined. The visit from Sifuna comes as there has been more political activity with leaders and new political movements trying to get themselves in the right position for the next General Election.
Other Kenyan politicians have also engaged with the diaspora. Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua went on a tour of the United States between August and October 2026.
Back in Kenya, Linda Mwananchi has been working to raise its profile by engaging with the public and in the counties. Political leaders from both camps have been working hard to build up their support. However, the tour to the United States will give Sifuna the opportunity to bring the message of the initiative to Kenyan’s who may not be able to attend meetings.
However, it is not clear if there will be any policies being officially launched or meetings with organisations in the diaspora. More information from the organisers will reveal what exactly will be happening at each location, where the meetings will be and who will be accompanying the senator.
Overall, it has been confirmed that the initiative will be engaging with Kenyan communities across several parts of the United States for two weeks from November 20 to December 4.
