Motorists travelling to or from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) during late-night hours should anticipate minor delays in the coming days. The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced a partial closure along a busy section of the A8/B10 Highway, affecting the stretch between the JKIA turn-off and the Elephant Roundabout.

To minimise disruption during peak hours, the maintenance works will be conducted overnight from Friday, April 10 to Sunday, April 19, 2026, between 10:00 pm and 5:00 am each night.

According to KeNHA Director General Eng. Luka Kimeli, “the temporary inconvenience is necessary to facilitate essential highway maintenance.”

He explained that the works will be carried out in phases, with only portions of the road closed at any given time to allow traffic to continue flowing, albeit at a slower pace.

Motorists using this route during the affected hours are advised to follow all traffic signage and cooperate with police officers and traffic marshals on-site.

Travellers are also encouraged to plan ahead and allow extra time for their journeys, particularly those catching early morning flights or arriving late at night. Normal traffic operations are expected to fully resume once the maintenance works are completed on the morning of April 19.
