Comedian and radio presenter Francis Munyao, popularly known as MCA Tricky, has announced his departure from Milele FM, bringing to an end a six-year tenure at the Mediamax-owned radio station.

MCA Tricky confirmed his exit in a statement released on his social media platforms, where he thanked the station’s management, colleagues and listeners for supporting him throughout his broadcasting career.

“Today, I officially close one of the most important chapters of my life. After six unforgettable years, I have officially left Mediamax Network Ltd’s Milele FM, where I proudly served from June 2020 to June 2026,” he said.

The broadcaster described the decision as difficult, saying his time in radio had extended beyond employment and had become a significant part of his professional journey.

“This wasn’t an easy decision. Radio has never been just a job to me, it has been a calling. Every show, every fun moment, every conversation… every listener who tuned in became part of my journey,” MCA Tricky said.

He also expressed appreciation to Mediamax Network and the teams he worked with during his time at the station, as well as listeners who followed his programmes over the years.

MCA Tricky did not disclose his next career destination or indicate whether he intends to join another media house.

However, in his statement, he revealed that his departure followed the failure to reach an agreement with the employer regarding a request for a short unpaid study leave to pursue his academic goals.

“My departure comes after we were unable to reach a mutual agreement regarding my request for a short unpaid study leave as I continue pursuing my academic goals,” he said.

MCA Tricky joined Milele FM in June 2020 after leaving Radio Maisha and became one of the station’s recognised presenters while continuing his work as a stand-up comedian and television personality. During his tenure, he was part of the station’s drive-time programming and remained active in Kenya’s entertainment industry.

At the time of publication, Mediamax Network Limited had not issued an official statement regarding his departure or announced plans for his replacement. Likewise, MCA Tricky had not provided details on his next professional engagement.

His exit marks the latest change in Kenya’s radio industry, where presenters have continued to move between media houses or pursue opportunities outside traditional broadcasting. For now, MCA Tricky has only confirmed that his tenure at Milele FM has ended and that he intends to pursue the next phase of his career.
