Kenyan actress Jackie Matubia has revealed that her longtime nanny, who had worked with her family for nearly six years, left her employment without prior notice, describing the experience as both unexpected and emotionally distressing.

According to Matubia, the nanny had informed her that she was going to a hospital, but communication later ceased after her phone numbers became unreachable. The actress said she was filming on set when she received information that prompted her to return home immediately.

“I had to leave set because I was told my children had been left without anyone at home,” Matubia said in one of the videos posted on her social media accounts. Upon returning home, she said she discovered that the nanny had vacated the house with her belongings.

“My nanny of six years has done me dirty,” Matubia said. “She just left. We had even talked about her retiring later this year.”

The actress explained that the caregiver had become a significant part of her household over the years and that she had intended to support her as she transitioned out of employment.
