The Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) has officially opened the portal for first-time and subsequent loan applications for the 2026/2027 academic year. Students in universities and TVET institutions are encouraged to apply early to avoid delays in disbursement.

HELB CEO Charles Ringera emphasized that the board has simplified the application process by integrating it with the e-Citizen platform for faster verification.
