Leaders from the East African Community (EAC) gathered in Arusha this March 2026 to finalize new trade harmonization policies aimed at removing non-tariff barriers.

The move is expected to significantly boost regional trade and facilitate the smooth movement of goods and services across the 8-member bloc, with Kenya taking a lead role in the transition.
