Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna arrived in Kitui County on Monday, August 10, just hours after participating in a series of opposition rallies in Kakamega County, extending a weekend of political engagements across different parts of the country.

Sifuna was received by Kitui Senator Enock Wambua at Ithookwe Stadium, where he was accompanied by political communicator Pauline Njoroge. Images and videos shared by the leaders on social media showed the trio interacting with supporters following the senator’s arrival.

By the time of publication, neither Sifuna nor Wambua had publicly disclosed the purpose of the Kitui visit, and no official programme or agenda had been announced.

Welcoming the Nairobi senator, Wambua acknowledged his arrival in a social media post, writing:

“Welcome to Kitui, Senator Edwin Sifuna.”

The visit came less than 24 hours after Sifuna joined other opposition leaders in Kakamega County, where they addressed public rallies on governance and other national issues.

Sifuna has in recent weeks participated in several public engagements alongside opposition leaders in different parts of the country, with the latest visit adding to that schedule.

Although the Kitui meeting drew attention because it followed the Kakamega rallies, no official statement had been issued linking it to any specific political programme or campaign.

The presence of Pauline Njoroge, who has been actively involved in political communication and public engagements, also attracted public interest. However, she had not issued a statement explaining the purpose of the visit at the time of publication.
