Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has accused the media in what he describes as it is wrong not to highlight Keya Kwanza’s achievements in the government over the past eight months it has been in power.

The D.P accused the media of “one-sided” coverage of President Ruto’s government performance based on promises he made to Kenyans in the August 2022 elections.

“Our friends here the media yesterday ran a story of our broken promises and I gave them a long list (of what the government has achieved)which I have not seen (published),” the DP stated.

Gachagua was referring to a headline by the Nation newspaper on Saturday ,”Broken Promises”, under which the publication listed ten pledges the Kenya Kwanza government is yet to fulfil since been in power.

“Don’t give a one-sided story. Give the story of what you consider to be broken promises give the story of the kept promises and leave the people of Kenya to make a decision on whether in seven months substantial progress has been made.”

At the same time, Gachagua called upon the local administrators in Isiolo over the high drug abuse , terming the situation worrisome.

He said unlike the past, chiefs who fail to curb drug abuse in their locales will not be transferred. They will instead to be forced to leave their offices altogether and retire.
