President William Ruto is presiding over the passing-out parade of newly trained General Service Unit (GSU) recruits at the National Police College, Embakasi ‘B’ Campus in Nairobi. The ceremony marks the completion of an intensive training programme for the recruits, who are now set to join the National Police Service (NPS) and take up assignments in different parts of the country.

The passing-out parade brings together senior government and security officials to mark the recruits’ transition from training into active service. The newly trained officers have undergone specialised preparation designed to equip them with the skills and discipline required for their duties within the GSU and the wider National Police Service.

Their deployment will add to the personnel available to the police service for security and other operational responsibilities across the country.

The ceremony also provides an opportunity for the government and police leadership to outline expectations for the new officers as they begin their careers in the National Police Service. The GSU is a specialised unit within the National Police Service that is deployed for various security operations, including responding to situations requiring specialised policing capabilities.

The recruits’ passing-out marks the final stage of their formal training before they are assigned to their respective stations and units.
