The Machakos gubernatorial race is gather steam day in day out. One of the serious contenders in the race Wavinya Ndeti has just resign from her appointive position. Her resignation comes barely days after Nzioka Waita resigned to vie for the same position.

In a twist of events both Waita and Wavinya have been senior officials in the jubilee administration. Wavinya Ndeti has been the Chief Administrative Secretary in the ministry of Transport. Both Wavinya and Nzioka are expected to vie against former Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama. Unlike Nzioka, Wavinya has already declared her party of choice in the upcoming elections. The vocal women leader is expected to vie for the position using Wiper.

In documents seen by https://iconnews.co.ke Wavinya indicated that she is confident in clinching the seat after emerging a close second in the last general elections.

During the 2017 general elections, Wavinya Ndeti flew the wiper party flag in Machakos in the governor’s race. she emerged second and challenged the election results in court. the court however ruled in favour of Alfred Mutua.

With the spirit of the handshake, the president appointed various political leaders from the opposition to government. It was during this appointments that Wavinya was appointed to the cabinet.

The Machakos Gubernatorial race is expected to be among the highly contested political race in the next general election. it will also test the popularity of wiper in the region.
