Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has blasted Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu over her remarks that the wiper boss join Raila Odinga. Kalonzo while ordering the outspoken Governor to shut up indicated that he will not be coerced to joining hands with Raila Odinga after he breached their contract.
Both Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka have been in the opposition since the onset of devolution. they formed the Coalition for restoration of Democracy (CORD) in the 2013 General election where they emerged 2nd place after the jubilee coalition.
According to source near the wiper Boss, Raila was suppose to support Kalonzo’s presidential ambition in 2017. The former Premier However didn’t support Kalonzo but rather went to the ballot with Kalonzo as the running mate . The duo failed terribly again in the hotly contested election. The election petition laid the groundwork for the succession politics of 2022 with major political bigwigs throwing their hat in the ring.
As usual Kalonzo expected Raila to support his bid but instead the ODM party Boss decided to launch the Azimio la Umoja platform which he hopes will propel him to statehouse.
Like Minded parties
Kalonzo Joined other like minded Parties who were part of the 2017 NASA brigade and named their coalition the One Kenya alliance. The alliance is however in shambles after two of the Key principals ditched the Alliance and teamed up with Deputy President William Ruto
With such Kind of jumping ship Kalonzo feels betrayed by all his political friends. Ngilu has been pushing Kalonzo to shelve his ambitions in favour of Raila Odinga for a third time a move that Kalonzo has rejected.
In his response to Ngilu Kalonzo Indicated that Ngilu is okay to campaign whoever she wants but she should not say that the people of ukambani have sent her to azimio.
