Police are searching for Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) Officer Commanding Station (OCS) Agnes Ndanu following allegations that she attempted to kill a 25-year-old woman during an incident at an apartment in Thome Estate, Nairobi.

The woman, identified as Nicole Omondi, survived after falling from the sixth floor of the residential building and is receiving treatment at Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH), where she reportedly sustained severe spinal injuries, multiple fractures and has been left paralysed from the waist down.

According to media reports, detectives have launched investigations to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident, which is alleged to have occurred after the two women returned from a night out. Reports claim an argument broke out after Ndanu allegedly accused Omondi of infidelity before the situation escalated.

Investigators are also reported to have reconstructed the scene as part of the ongoing inquiry. Some media outlets have alleged that forensic findings suggest Omondi may have been assaulted before falling from the balcony. However, neither the National Police Service (NPS) nor the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has officially confirmed those claims or released the findings of the investigation.

Authorities have not publicly disclosed the exact circumstances that led to Omondi’s fall, and detectives continue to gather evidence before determining whether criminal charges will be recommended.

Reports further indicate that Ndanu later attempted to visit Omondi at Kenyatta National Hospital but was prevented from seeing her by the victim’s relatives. That claim has not been independently confirmed by police or hospital officials.

The incident has attracted widespread public attention because the suspect is a serving senior police officer. Before her appointment as OCS at KICC Police Station, Ndanu served at Witeithie and Kasarani police stations, where she rose through the ranks before assuming a command position. She is also reported to be the daughter of a retired senior police officer.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations has not issued a detailed public statement on the allegations, while the National Police Service has yet to comment on the progress of the investigation. Under Kenyan law, investigators are required to collect and present evidence before recommending criminal charges to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.

The case has renewed public discussion about the investigation of alleged domestic violence and accountability involving serving police officers. Legal experts note that cases involving law enforcement officers are subject to the same criminal investigation process as any other suspect, with prosecutors expected to determine whether sufficient evidence exists to support criminal charges.
