Johnson Sakaja has ordered a fresh reshuffle within Nairobi County, reassigning five Chief Officers in changes that take effect immediately.
In a memo dated April 24, 2026, the governor said the reorganisation was carried out under Section 45(5) of the County Governments Act, 2012, which grants him authority to redeploy chief officers within the county administration.
The changes see Machel Waikenda moved from Mobility and ICT Infrastructure to Lands and Mobility, while Cecilia Koigu swaps from Lands to ICT Infrastructure.
Bob Ariemba has been placed in charge of Roads, Public Works and Infrastructure in an acting capacity, as Irene Muchoki shifts from Medical Services to Gender and Inclusivity.
Mariam Dubow Dahir, who previously served in Gender and Inclusivity, will now take over the Medical Services docket.“The changes take effect immediately,” the memo reads.
The directive, signed by Governor Sakaja, signals a strategic realignment within key departments as the county government adjusts its administrative structure.
