Teacher Pricillah Wanjiru Karanja, popularly known as Tr Cillah has finally responded to the allegations that have been leveled against her concerning her transfer to another institution and addressed some controversial information that has been disseminated about her past academic qualifications and career path.

The famed educator, who teaches at the Westlands Primary School responded to the criticism levelled against her on Thursday, October 8, 2026 after social media users began questioning the allegations that were leveled against her concerning the institution she is set to join including the salary bracket she will fall into.

The rumors began after a video of students at Tenri Schools Embu going down the line apparently welcoming Cillah to the institution went viral on social media sparking accusations that she was leaving the school she teaches at.

In her response, which was posted online, Cillah said that some of the allegations were too far fetched and that there was an old report that she had chosen not to comment on which had also gone around previously.

“Hata kama ni kudanganya mnaoverdo,” Cillah said. “Juzi mmedanganya nilipeleka mbuzi kama mahari nikanyamaza, sasa mnasema ati naenda shule gani na ati nalipwa how much.”

Cillah concluded her statement by saying that she was frustrated by the allegations that were being leveled against her.

“Juu pia mimi siamini. Mnadanganya sana buana,” she said.

The latest development comes one week after Cillah was named Teacher of the Year at the World Teachers’ Day 2026 Gala Dinner. She was overwhelmed after her parents surprised her as she went to the stage to receive the prize, which left her in tears of joy. Cillah, who has amassed a huge following online, continues to use her fame to speak up on issues affecting schools and learners in Kenya.

Last September, she was criticizing the conditions of some learning institutions in the country and called the authorities to task for failing to provide a conducive learning environment for the country’s youths. She had also visited a school in Meru County and posted pictures of learners taking their lessons in mabati structures and called well-wishers to donate to the schools to help improve infrastructure.

The latest development has therefore added to the list of controversies that the famed teacher has been involved in as she continues to seek answers concerning her transfer and address accusations that she leveled against the management of the school she teaches at.

It remains to be seen whether Cillah has actually transferred from Westlands Primary School or not from the statements she has made recently.
