Jambojet has restarted daily flights between Nairobi and Entebbe, Uganda, after six years since suspending services, providing a convenient connection for passengers and businesses in the region. The Kenyan budget airline announced the resumption of flights on Thursday, October 1, with daily departures between Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and Entebbe International Airport.

In a statement regarding the resumption of flights, Jambojet welcomed travellers seeking a direct and convenient connection between Kenya and Uganda.

“Your direct, hassle-free route between Kenya and Uganda is officially open. Whatever your reason to fly, Jambojet is now your daily direct bridge connecting Kenya and Uganda,” the airline said.

According to the airline’s schedule, the Nairobi-Entebbe flight will depart at 9:30 a.m., and the plane will reach Entebbe at 11:00 a.m. The return journey will begin at 11:40 a.m. from Entebbe, and the plane will touch down in Nairobi at 1:30 p.m., based on the information published by the carrier. Jambojet announced ticket prices for the route, starting from US$170 (about Ksh22,950) for one-way flights. The fares may vary depending on the demand and other factors.

The airline first announced flights to Entebbe in 2018 as part of its expansion plans. However, the company suspended the route in June 2020 due to reduced passenger traffic during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Jambojet’s return to Entebbe is expected to boost regional connectivity as businesses and passengers travelling between the two countries seek a reliable and affordable option.

The Kenya-based carrier’s chief executive officer and managing director, Karanja Ndegwa, commented on the significance of the route to both economies.

“Our return to Uganda is a huge step in the right direction as we continue to invest in regional connectivity. We see a great potential to serve businesspeople, tourists, and shippers who desire a short and affordable flight alternative between our two nations,” Ndegwa said in an event in Kampala, Uganda, during the stakeholder forum.

In addition to transporting passengers, Jambojet will also carry parcels and cargo on the Nairobi-Entebbe route, offering a reliable solution for businesses in the region. The airline’s return to the Ugandan capital will provide a sufficient alternative to the already existing road and rail links between Kenya and Uganda. Moreover, the flights will open a new opportunity for business travellers, tourists, and shoppers who wish to travel to other Kenyan destinations, such as Mombasa, Diani, Malindi, and Lamu after landing in Nairobi.

The airline’s return to Entebbe is an important milestone on its way to becoming a leading regional carrier. In April 2026, Jambojet increased its fleet size to 11 aircraft and continues to expand its network of destinations.
