He urged Kenyans to alert the police and specifically called on the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to investigate the matter. Content creator Liz Jackson also condemned the incident, saying she had seen the video but chose not to repost it because of its disturbing nature. Jackson called on authorities to investigate and arrest anyone found to have given alcohol to the minor. She said such behaviour should not be condoned.
The video has renewed concerns over the exposure of children to alcohol and the responsibility of adults to protect minors from harmful substances. Kenya’s alcohol-control laws prohibit the sale or supply of alcoholic drinks to people below the age of 18.
