After months and months of speculation and political discussions, Governor Ann Waiguru has finally joined UDA. UDA is a political party that is highly associated with deputy president William Ruto who has already declared that he will be run on the party tickets in the next general election.

True to her word Governor Waiguru finally decided that it was time join the growing UDA hustler movement that has gained momentum in the country.

The Electorate

The Governor had indicated that she is listening to the electorate in her county before she makes the political shift from the once popular Jubilee to UDA.

This official move to UDA has caused a storm in the political world especially for the Pro-BBI supporters who had branded Waiguru as the protector and major supporter of the BBI in the Mount Kenya Region.

According to credible sources close to the governor, it is now decided that she will be defending her seat on the UDA party ticket. This move will however rock the party during the party nominations.

Waiguru will have to battle out for the nomination slot with the flamboyant Kirinyaga Women Representative Wangui Ngirichi who has publicly indicated that she seeks to dethrone and unseat Waiguru.

Political Ambitions

Wangui who has downplayed claims that she is being persuaded to drop her gubernatorial ambitions in favour of Waiguru, has declared that she has and will do what it takes to unseat the former cabinet secretary for devolution.

The outspoken Women representative has declared that she will not be persuaded to drop her political ambitions for anyone.

During Her speech at the welcoming event in Karen, Waiguru indicated that people don’t need to be told which way  the Mount ken ya Region will side with. “All people have to do is recall when I introduced the deputy president during the Mashujaa day celebrations” she said.
