Very Short;Kalonzo describes President Ruto’s speech at Parliament

Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has come out to criticise the speech given by President William Ruto. Ruto was addressing the bi-camel parliament yesterday during its official opening. It is the norm and tradition that parliament is officially opened by the president after every election.

While Addressing the legislators, Ruto gave a 30 minute speech. The speech has now been criticised by Kalonzo as on of the shortest speeches given by a sitting president. Ruto touched on various issues that have made the Wiper Party Leader angry.

The nearly 30 minute speech touched on very sensitive matters. The president mentioned the burdening public debt in the country. The need to overhaul the NSSF was also included. He also petitioned the Members of parliament to pass the oversight fund bill that his government will bring to parliament.

The Bill

The oversight Fund bill is expected to fund senators so that they can perform their oversight roles well. The fund will oversee the formation of the oversight kitty that will help senators audit and oversight their respective counties well. Other issued mentioned in the Speech was High cost of living and corruption.

Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka who has been left out in the recent appointments to the Azimio Presidential Campaign Team.The coalition is said to have rejected kalonzo after he walked out of the coalition.

According to Kalonzo, The president mentioned all this things but didn’t give the route to implementation. The former vice president went on to say that it is time that the government implements its manifesto and promises. Among the promises made by the Kenya Kwanza government included bringing down the cost of living and Fuel.

In reference to the speech,the azimio principal indicated that since Kenya Kwanza took over. The cost of living has gone up and fuel has also skyrocketed. According to the Leader the high prices of fuel are driving away potential investors.
