While she speaking at the situation room on SPICE FM in the morning the outspoken Kirinyaga governor and former devolution cabinet secretary Anne Waiguru, said that she might join or not join UDA during next year’s election.
The governor of the agricultural rich county was also uncertain whether she will be defending her seat in 2022 general elections in what she termed as listening to the electorate. i have to listen to the voters and what they want” i can not vote for myself and win an election” she was quoted saying during the talk show.

Waiguru had last year been impeached by the Kirinyaga county assembly on grounds of gross violations of the constitution and abuse of office. her impeachment was however overturned by the senate in what the tangatanga faction described as the work of the state in protecting its supporters.
The contestants
Waiguru is expecting a tight race with the Kirinyaga County women representative Purity Wangui Ngirici declaring interest in dethroning the governor from her seat. the women representative is advent supporter of UDA a party affiliated with the deputy president and is seen as a strong party in the mount Kenya region.
During her impeachment hearing she said that she was being attacked by the MCA s on grounds that were malicious and that they lacked any evidence, she was represented in the motion by her lawyer husband Kamotho Waiganjo.

Waiguru also indicated that she believes that the electorate will look in o her score card and judge on her merits but for the moment she is waiting for the people to go ahead. it is not certain whether she will defend her seat.
