Student Dies After Two Teachers Allegedly Beat Him Over Cheating In Physics Exam

Directorate of Criminal Investigation in Nandi county are investigating the mysterious death of a form one student from Chemase Secondary School.

The student,Kelvin Kiptanu died on Friday evening while undergoing treatment at Nandi hills sub county hospital where he had been referred to after he complained of chest pains.

The head of the school told the police that Kevin was allegedly beaten in turns by two teachers at the school on claims that he caught cheating in the  examination.

It was revealed that the student was found cheating together with another student while sitting for their physics examinations.

‘The school’s management didn’t have any sickness report from the boy only to learn later that he had develop complications,’ a police report read.

Tinderet sub county OCPD , Mohammed Jire said his officers have already started investigating  the circumstances that led  to the death of the student who was admitted at Chemase secondary school a few weeks ago.

‘We  will look into every allegations to establish the truth about the unfortunate incident and take appropriate actions,’ said the OCPD.

He also said that a postmortem will be done on the body of the deceased to ascertain the cause of his death.

Mr. Jire asked the family of the deceased and members of the public to remain calm and allow investigations to be done so that justice will be served.
