A big win for sonko as the Mombasa high court clears him to run for Mombasa gubernatorial seat.The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) dismissed him from vying .According to IEBC he was unfit to occupy any public seat after being impeached as the Nairobi governor.
A ruling which was heard by a three judged bench Olga Sewe, Ann Ong’injo’, and stephen Githinji mentioned that The former Nairobi governor had a pending appeal at the supreme court regarding his impeachment.
A beam of hope for Sonko as high court orders IEBC on ballot printing
This comes days after the IEBC had requested the wiper party to replace Sonko with his running mate Ali Mbogo .The former Nairobi governor had condemned that IEBC chairperson , Wafula Chebukati was over the move to lock him out of the Mombasa gubernatorial race. The party could not heed any of it as they pledged to push for Sonko until he was cleared to vie.
