Socialite Shay Diva alias Sheila Wanjiru, has been sentenced to 4 years in prison, after she was found guilty for stealing a Landcruiser V8 from a 61-year-oldlover. The socialite was arrested on July 2nd 2021.

Kitale chief magistrate Julius N’garng’ar on Monday, December 5, 2022, sentenced the socialite to four years in prison on 3 different counts.

Shay Diva was charged with 3 counts of meddling with family estate, forgery and stealing.

She was having an affair with the deceased Asian tycoon Pj Dophia Kumar.

Magistrate said Sheila transferred vehicle ownership at a very questionable time , just a day after the tycoons death.

During her trial, five witnesses were present who were to testify on the case. Among them was Chirag Bhatt, a manager of a hard ware shop which was owned by the late tycoon.

The witness told the court that the socialite used to blackmail the late tycoon by threating to reveal their relationship to his wife in the U.K

Sheila’s Pleas

In her defense, shay Diva told the court that the land cruiser was transferred to her without her knowledge and she learned about it when she accessed her NTSA account.

According to NTSA records, Sheila filed a transfer of the logbook by logging into the TIMS account of the late tycoon shortly after his death. The transfer was authorized but there were no supporting documents from the owner.

The family of the deceased filed a complaint to the police, where Sheila was tracked to Kitengela and the vehicle was towed to BuruBuru Police Station. Later on the vehicle was towed to Kitale Police Station after the socialite tried to get the vehicle back from the police.

The court was convinced that Sheila allegedly transferred ownership of the Landcruiser. She was found guilty.

Additionally, she was  sentenced to four years in prison on December 5, 2022.
