Makueni Senator Dan Maanzo claims that President William Ruto needs Kalonzo Musyoka. The fire-band politician claims that the president needs the wiper party voting block. The government needs to have a majority control in both houses of the bi-camel parliament in order to achieve and execute its mandate. The just concluded August general election saw a highly contested election that pitted both coalitions against each other. No single coalition has the absolute majority in any house.

According to past experiences and the constitution, there a motions or bills that require at least 2/3 thirds to pass in the houses. However, Currently no coalition scores the near 2/3 thirds mark. This means that each time the president seeks to have a bill passed that require that quorum,he will have to poach from the Minority. It is for this reason, Dan Maanzo claims that the Kalonzo factor is needed to stabilise the government.

President Ruto has been on record asking the wiper boss to come on board. His latest invite came on 23rd October 2022. The president was speaking after a thanksgiving ceremony in AIC church, Kitui county. He reiterated his calls to the wiper boss on his need to join the government. On his part Kalonzo seems to be very adamant and wants to stay in the opposition.

Political pundits are having a field day with this invites. Some claim that if Kalonzo joins the government, then that would be his political death. Other claim that if the wiper boss joins the government he might be able to spur and influence projects for his people.
