Representatives to travel to Greece to inspect the printing of ballot papers.

IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati. The commission ahs locked out over 34 aspirants in the presidential race. This is after the aspirants failed to meet the deadline to submit signatures.

Three commissioners vice chair Juliana charera ,Francis Wanderi and Boya Muli accompanied by representative of presidential contenders from DP William Ruto and Azimio Raila Odinga.

“We are definitely going to send a team to Greece since we are stakeholders. We are finalising on their details, and hope to have done so by close of the day ,” she said

Roots party and Agano party professor Wajackoya and David Mwaure did not send representatives as their slots were available.

Josphat Nanok who is the Governor of Turkana will represent UDA while lawyer Velma Maumo and Ben Agina will represent Azimio.

UDA had no issues with IEBC or its processes but Azimio team wanted arrangements made for its representatives to travel to Greece and inspect the printing of ballot papers.

Lyko’S has the capacity to print over 8 million ballot papers within a day .The last batch will arrive on 29th July.Ballot papers are being brought on a daily basis.

Ballot papers delivered are those for various elective seats , except for areas with pending court seats , except for areas with pending court cases. The printed papers are being stored at IEBC’s main warehouse in Nairobi.

According to Chebukati, ballot papers will be the last to be distributed during the last week leading to August 9.He also urges politicians hold peaceful campaigns.
