REJECTED;National Assembly reject tourism and Wildlife Nominee

The vetting committee in the national assembly has just rejected the Penninah Malonza as the cabinet nominee for Tourism and wildlife Penninah Malonza.

One of the worst feeling in the world is the feeling of rejection. Being rejected has a very un-soothing feeling to it. Today one of the most senior politicians in the country has just experienced rejection. The cabinet secretary nominee for tourism and wildlife has been rejected the vetting committee. The decision to reject her nomination was unanimous. Committee members agreed that the nomination of Penninah Malonza was inadequate and that she will not represent the interest of the country better.

Penninah Malonza is a politician Kitui County. She served as the first deputy governor for the county of Kitui. The politician had been instrumental in campaigning for the UDA party and the Kenya Kwanza coalition in the ukambani region. All the other nominee to the cabinet have been approved by the committee.

According to the constitution, the president is expected to nominate another qualified person. He will then inform the speaker of the National Assembly of the nomination. The speaker of the National Assembly will set the date for the vetting. Before any cabinet nominee is sworn they must be vetted. after vetting the committee the tables the report in parliament for deliberation. In today’s report on the just concluded vetting, The minority side had a problem with the nomination of 5 nominees.

The nominees that were rejected by the Minority side in their report include, Treasury and Finance Nominee Prof Njuguna Ndung’u. Public Service and gender affairs Nominee Aisha Jumwa. Agriculture cabinet nominee Mithika Linturi. The reports tabled can be amended by the house.
