On Sunday Morning, a police officer was arrested for shooting dead his colleague.

Both of the officers were attached to the Awendo police station, the police officer shot his colleague within the Critical Infrastucture Protection unit Amory area in Awendo Sub-county.

The suspect , Sulubu allegedly shot dead his coworker, Elijah using an AK-47 around 6a.m on February 19, 2023

Police commander, Hesau Ochoroki, said the suspect who is a constable, was returning his firearm to the Amory after a night of duty, when he pulled his trigger and shot his colleague.

The commander reveled that, the bullet entered through the right side of the chest and exited through the left rib. He also said the officer was rushed to Rapcom Hospital for treatment, but he was pronounced dead on arrival.

He also said the motive for killing has not yet been established adding that investigations are still underway.

The accused was arrested immediately in his house after the shooting, and he is been dretained at Migori police station pending investigations and been presented in court.
